Porto Bodega Marina & RV Park

There are several places to camp in Bodega Bay but only two that I know of have hook-ups.  The one that my parents used to go to is right on Highway 1 next to a restaurant.  I’ve heard the restaurant is good.  But, in my opinion the RV park was just a parking lot with hook-ups.  A few years ago, through a web search, we found Porto Bodega Marina & RV Park and decided to try it out.

Porto Bodega is located at 1500 Bay Flat Rd., directly on Bodega Bay.  There are 58 RV sites and 31 of these are waterfront sites.  All sites have hook-ups except for 13 of the waterfront sites.  The hook-ups include water, electricity, sewer and cable.

Sunset Beach State Park

For several years now we have made Sunset Beach our November destination.  Why November?  Well, long ago I used to work at a school that was on a “year round” schedule.  I was assigned to “A” track which meant that November was one of the months I had off.  The hubby decided it was a good time to take some vacation around the Veteran’s Day holiday since I was already off AND November is a good time on the California north coast.  By the time I switched back to a traditional schedule, which meant I was no longer off in November, we were hooked.  So, now I have to use vacation days as well.  It’s worth it.
