The Husband’s Secret

Something I always look forward to when we go on our RV trips is spending plenty of time with a good book.

To me there isn’t anything much better than enjoying a wonderful novel in a beautiful venue.

So, because of that, I’ve decided to start a category for book recommendations and here’s the first one.

The Husband’s Secret

Liane Moriarty

Cecilia Fitzpatrick has what seems to be the perfect life.  She’s a successful business woman with a loving husband and three children.  Everything seems so under control until she stumbles upon a letter from her husband to be opened only in the event of his death.  This book isn’t a mystery waiting for the secret to be revealed.  It’s more about how a secret of such magnitude in someone’s past can affect them, their loved ones and so many others.
I read this book during our last RV trip and was very impressed with Ms. Moriarty’s storytelling skills.  It was hard to put down.  Her characters were vivid and believable and I cared about what happened to every one of them.  I kept thinking…, oh how, is she going to resolve this tale?  And, I wasn’t disappointed.  Not only does it resolve in a satisfying manner but the author included an epilogue that confirmed things alluded to within the story and included details that the characters did not know.
The Husband’s Secret is a beautifully written book that is not only entertaining but also makes you think.  I enjoyed it so much that I immediately looked for other books written by Liane Moriarty and am now enjoying What Alice Forgot.
Have you read The Husband’s Secret or any other of Moriarty’s books?  If so, what did you think?  Let me know.
